“What a cruel world professional sports can be sometimes. I mean, god forbid Jonathan has somewhat of a down year last year. He still scored 20 goals. He scored 20 goals every single year he’s been in the league. And what he’s accomplished in his career? If he finished today, if he decided ‘you know what, i’m good, I’m not gonna play hockey anymore’, we’d be talking about him as potentially going to the Hall of Fame, probably would be a Hall of Famer with all he’s already done at this point. To find that motivation late in his career, I mean he has tons of years left but. I think you’re right Pat. I think he got sick and tired of people counting him out, saying he’s on the decline, saying his career’s ending, he’s on the downside of his career. He’s playing arguably the best hockey that we’ve seen out of him. He looks quicker, he looks faster. He’s playing a different brand of hockey. Back when I first saw Jonathan, it was — let’s throw the puck in the corner, get it behind the net, because you know Jonny’s gonna outmuscle those one or two defenseman, he’s gonna get somebody on his back hit. He’s gonna battle, he’s gonna grind it out. And maybe that took a toll on him, i don’t know, ‘cause he did it for about ten years. Now the game’s changed: he’s gotten lighter, he’s gotten quicker, he’s playing more of an east-west game, he’s shooting the puck harder than he’s ever shot it…. So yeah, Jonny’s been great. It’s almost embarrassing that we have to pump Jonny’s tires because he’s been great since the day he entered the league. He does so many things to help this team on and off the ice. It’s great to see that everybody’s given him the recognition that he deserves.”

shoutout to bob’s burgers for doing an episode where linda got a job and bob got upset, not because his wife was going to be making money and he would not be supporting her, but because he missed her while she was gone. it wasn’t some bullshit about “but how will i take care of the kids” or “no i don’t want you to be independent,” it was just….. bob missed her bc she’s his best friend.
honestly a good partner isn’t necessarily someone who loves the exact same things you love but rather someone who is willing to listen to you ramble on and on about a particular subject that you’re passionate about even if they have little to no interest in it
they call me… 7 Knives. because that’s how many knives it takes me to cook things because I keep puttin em in the fuckin sink without thinking about it
